Motivated employees tend to produce happier customers and company culture plays a major role. As per the Harvard Business Review survey, the factors impacting employee motivation, on a scale from minus 100 to 100, are as follows:
Proper role design can increase the motivation score by almost 50, whereas the organization identity can increase by 35%.
Traditional wisdom tells us that the key elements related to job satisfaction with more quantitative factors like compensation and performance reviews are big sources of motivation. As per the above data, that actually turned out to be less important.
Businesses with strong company cultures are more likely to have more satisfied customers. As per the analysis of the airline industry, the airlines with the highest total motivation scores also received the highest customer satisfaction ratings. They found similar results in other industries.
It is indeed a smart move to invest in the company culture.
